I guide you to understand unresolved deep-rooted traumas, anxieties, and depression to find your true authentic self.

My Mission

The mission of my private practice is to collaborate with patients in their journey. To guide and direct them towards finding their “true self.” Through this reciprocal and collaborative exchange, one will rediscover the meaning of their authentic self. I believe our relationship and connection are essential. I am committed to this process and being a helpful clinician to allow for your growth.

Vision Statement

My vision is to support the underlying needs of children, teenagers, and adults from all cultures and communities. I take pride in getting to know who you are and understand more about your world and experiences through your perceptions (what you hear, see, feel, taste, and smell). As we begin to understand your perceptions deeper, we have insight into the underlying cause of human suffering. To empower you by sharing your stories, embracing your uniqueness, and speaking your mind. My vision is to listen to your deeper inner voice as we journey together in this therapy process.

More About Me

Meet Tonya Octave

My name is Tonya Octave, and I am an LCSW. As a licensed practitioner, I am providing clinical mental health services in the states of California and Nevada. My treatment modalities include psychodynamic, cognitive-behavior, behavior modification, private practice, play therapy for adults and children, evidence-based practices, and multicultural sensitive non-traditional treatment. I have a BA in Psychology from UCI and a Masters from CSULB. I hold a psychodynamic certification from the Univ of Clinical Social Work. I begin working in private practice in 2012 and have over ten years of clinical experience and more than 20 years of social work experience. I specialize in various degrees of depression, anxiety, and trauma. I use an integrative approach referred to as the Octave’s method. (1) Observation aspects of meditation, mindfulness, and spirituality.  (2) Compassion for one’s self, others, and the universe to bring the ego into balance. (3) Therapy to discover the underlying needs one may have in terms of their mental and emotional health. (4) Animal therapy which includes an emotional support animal who works in person with patients. Currently, I am working with Mona, who is a Siberian Husky. (5) Victuals, which mean one’s diet and examining how the foods we eat or don’t eat are related to our mental wellness. (6) Exercise and movement of the body. We may choose to use walk therapy, child yoga, trauma-sensitive Yoga, and other body healing forms. I am Level 2 trained in Reiki healing. (7) socialization and relationships with ourselves and others impact our emotions, how we perceive situations, and sometimes how we understand ourselves. I provide case consultations and supervision to those who desire to become licensed in the State of California or want to learn more about my integrative approach to treatment.
